Meet Stephani. A women in her 40s all the way from the city that never sleeps- New York!
Here are her Love Quest Survey Answers.

1. Do you believe in love at first sight?
YES
2. Would you/have you ever used an online dating site?
YES
3. Would you/have you ever used a matchmaking service?
YES
4. Do you kiss and tell?
YES
5. Do you believe in soulmates, i.e. that there is only one person out there for you?
YES
1. What’s the worst opening line that’s ever been thrown your way?
Wow…it's been so long, it's hard to remember. Oh, just the other day I was standing outside of a restaurant talking to my 32 year old friend and some 20 something year old guy walks by with some friends and started saying, "oh, look at the hotties" and some other unappealing comments. We continued ignoring him and as he passed he said, "I'm just trying to compliment you girls...or maybe I should say, you mother and daughter." Needless to say, that's certainly NOT the way to get my attention.
2. If you had to plan your perfect date, what would you do?
Funny, I just thought about this the other day because I just had the most perfect date ever! Of course, this would apply only to an established relationship- shopping for the home at Crate & Barrell!:) But for a new guy, I would now say something physical- bike riding, kayaking, sledding- anything that raises dopamine levels. I recently read that on 1st dates that include an activity (which raises domapine), it often leads to a 2nd date.
There was a guy I dated many years ago who was totally wrong for me. However, he always took me jet skiing or motorbiking- and even though I knew he wasn’t the one, it was always so exciting, that I continued seeing him and would fluster like a schoolgirl every time he called.
3. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you on a date?
The guy made me so unbelievably nervous that he gave me a stomachache and I had to rush to the bathroom. I couldn't get out of there for nearly 30 minutes. I was mortified!
4. Under what circumstances would you say it is permissible to date a friend’s ex-spouse (if any)?
My gut response is that it's never permissible- although there could be exceptions. If the friend is someone you're not really close to anymore, and haven't been for years, and there's a real connection with the guy- I think this could be an exception. It would have to be looked at on a “case-by-case” basis.
An ex-friend of mine is now married to an ex-boyfriend of mine. She was an ex-friend before she hooked up with him. It doesn't bother me in the least and I'm happy they're happily married now.
5. What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for someone else?
Can't really pinpoint one...I've arranged surprise parties, surprise tickets for games or shows, but can't really think of something outside of that. Honestly, I'm a hopeless romantic and tend to do little romantic things throughout the year. Sweet notes for no particular reason, or kissing the bathroom mirror before I leave to work so he sees my lips when he goes to the bathroom:) I believe it's all the little things we express all the time that endear us to each other- at least it has always worked that way for me.

None to be honest.
2. If you had to plan your perfect date, what would you do?
I’d have her meet me at a beautiful restaurant in Montreal most likely in the old port. When I arrive I will arrive with 1 rose not to be too overbearing then we would talk over our dinner in order to get to know each other than when we finish dinner id have a caleche meet us in the front of the restaurant or have it meet us at the corner of the street to make it a little more of a surprise. Then once our ride is over, we could walk around a little more just to get to know more about each other. Then we would go home- I'd walk her home then go back to my place, in order to think about what happen that night. Do we feel mutual about each other?
The End.
3. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you on a date?

4. Under what circumstances would you say it is permissible to date a friend’s ex-spouse (if any)?
If he is a good friend I think I should get his blessing or if I think he’s a jerk than I don’t see why not.
Also if she is widow.
5. What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for someone else?
To tell you the truth I never had the chance to have a really romantic moment however I do look forward.

How would you feel if you had a caleche waiting for you outside the restaurant on your first date?

Based on the comments I received about Rachelle’s blog post last week- I decided to do a follow up on Rachelle for this weeks’ Talk To Me Tuesday.
Here's her very first experience with online dating.

I could write a book entitled "my online dating nightmares...every single women's guide to survival”

Ok my very first online date after 22 years with the same person...was I nervous...OMG yes!
I remember sitting in my car taking more than a few deep breaths and pulling myself together emotionally as having no idea what to expect.

We met after work for a walk at Dows Lake (Ottawa). Within, and I am not kidding, 2 minutes into our walk- he stopped and turned to me and said “It appears to me you have quite the nice "rack"”. I had no idea what a "rack" was until I realized he was not looking at my face. If you happened to be at Dows Lake that day I was indeed the blonde hustling her butt back to her car faster than lightning.

So begins my online dating…

2. Would you/have you ever used an online dating site?
YES
3. Would you/have you ever used a matchmaking service?
NO
4. Do you kiss and tell?

5. Do you believe in soulmates, i.e. that there is only one person out there for you?

1. What’s the worst opening line that’s ever been thrown your way?
"Rachelle, it appears to me you have quite the nice "rack"....omg first online date to boot
2. If you had to plan your perfect date, what would you do?
I would take a walk by water on a warm summers day and hopefully if things went well have a bite to eat with a glass of wine overlooking the water
3. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you on a date?
I was meeting a date at a boathouse on Dows Lake (Ottawa). He said he would meet me in front of the boathouse at 6pm. I arrived promptly at 6pm and there he was handsome as could be. I proceeded to walk down the staircase and my heel got stuck in a crack just as I reached the bottom. I took a flip, and I mean a flip and yes I was wearing a dress...nothing less romantic than having a drink with an icepack on my knee.
4. Under what circumstances would you say it is permissible to date a friend’s ex-spouse (if any)?
Never, omg never.....that is just so smothered in wrong sauce.
5. What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for someone else?
I had not seen him in 3 weeks as he was abroad for business....so I picked him up at the airport.....He came down the escalator not knowing that all I was wearing with my leather coat and heels was a smile. Nothing underneath.

Can't wait to hear your answers!
