"You light up my life" . A phrase of days gone by ( we used to SAY) when
the person we liked would call. Sadly the same would have to "READ"....
You like up my screen! We don't communicate properly anymore! How are two
people supposed to build an intimate relationship when pillow talk has a
plate of glass between you?
Here's how it goes today... Two people meet.... An exchange of numbers...
"call me!" .... Great.... Looking forward to it.... Then what happens ...
You light up my screen! The TEXT! Ugh!
In addition to how we communicate we are even now programmed differently
on how we meet people. We no longer look right or left at the people around
us.... Instead we swipe on apps like tinder .... our heads bowed looking
at a screen that fits in the palm of our hands. We glance at images of
people we may want to meet some day with the conception that tomorrow's
line up may be even better so why settle?
What's a person to do when we live in such a fast passed instant
gratification society and all we want is an old fashioned relationship?
I give dating advise to clients all the time on how to slow it down and
get connected and I am not alone in my views and antidotes on the
traditional art of relating dating and potentially mating.
